As a longtime public servant and Meadowlands resident who brings vast and varied experience to the NJSEA, Mr. Prieto is well-served to move the dynamic organization into the future with an eye on balancing its vital importance to the region as both an economic engine and environmental jewel.
John Ballantyne was a Union Leader. He is now the Chairman of the NJSEA. Mr. Ballantyne serves on the Board of Directors for Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield and as the Chairman for the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
Commissioner Yudin served his country as a U.S. Navy Veteran, Lt. j.g. Airborne Navigator during the Vietnam era and graduated from the United States Naval School of Justice in Newport, RI. He is a member of the VFW and the Jewish War Veteran
Armando Fontoura ia a Commisioner on the NJSEA Board of Directors. He is the current Essex County Sheriff. He grew up in the Ironbound Section of Newark and his wife grew up in neighboring Harrison. Both communities have been affected by the H2S gas being released from the Keegan Landfill.
Joseph Buckelew was originally from New Brunswick but now travels from Manasquan NJ to attend NJSEA board meetings in Lyndhurst NJ.
He is a Member of the National Association of Independent Insurance Agents. He is also a member of the Professional Insurance Agents, the Ocean County Board of Realtors and the Independent Insurance Agents of Ocean County.
Commissioner Robert J. Dowd is the Chief of Police of the Township of North Bergen. He moved up the ranks since becoming a police officer in North Bergen.
Mr. Gluck is a practicing attorney, specializing in health care, corporate and governmental law and has been practicing for over twenty years
Mr. Kolber previously served on the Board of Trustees for Jumpstart, a highly recognized nonprofit organization, whose focus is to help promote early literacy for economically underprivileged children. He is the Chairman of the Kolber Family Foundation; served on the Board of the University of the District of Columbia’s School of Business; is a past Chairman of Riverview Medical Center Foundation, Red Bank, NJ and trustee of Oak Hill Academy, Lincroft, NJ.
Steven D. Plofker is an attorney, real estate developer, and business owner.
With his wife, he founded Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Inc., now a Division of Estee Lauder, Inc.
Business Agent for Local Union 1007. He has represented District Council 711 as one of the key negotiators for the Council’s current Collective Bargaining Agreement. He also serves as a Trustee for the Bergen County Building Trades and as Vice President of the Bergen County Central Labor Committee.
Anthony Scardino Jr. is a former New Jersey State Senator and mayor of Lyndhurst. He served for 18 years as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC, predecessor to NJSEA) Commissioner Scardino entered a life of public service after he completed four years in the United States Air Force. He served as Mayor of Lyndhurst, a trustee on the township’s Board of Education, and a New Jersey State Senator for seven years before taking on his role at the NJMC.
